Jason Dumont has been working in natural resources for over 17 years. He started as a wildland firefighter for the Forest Service, and worked as a land manager for The Nature Conservancy for 9 years before becoming a restoration consultant. Jason specializes in riparian, forest, and prairie restoration. His favorite thing to do is to wander off trail and explore.
A native of western New York, Alex earned a Master of Environmental Management degree from Portland State and has been working in the PNW for the past 6 years. He has expertise in wetland sciences, plant ecology, non-native aquatic plants and GIS. For Mosaic Ecology, Alex conducts aquatic and terrestrial vegetation surveys, develops BMPs, carries out monitoring, and oversees data collection and GIS work. Alex currently splits his time with field work, consulting and project management. Alex also manages administrative duties and professional development for all crew members and is the contact for hiring inquiries.
Lauren began her career outside as a sawyer for Americorps in 2010. Since then she has worked a variety of labor jobs in natural resources in Colorado, New Hampshire, and Oregon. Soon after graduating from Reed College in 2013, Lauren began applying her natural resource experience to ecological restoration. She has been at Mosaic Ecology since 2015 and loves seeing projects transform over time. Outside of work she enjoys science fiction and long hikes in the desert.
Justin acquired his degree in Environmental Science, with a focus on terrestrial ecosystems, from Oregon State University. He spent several seasons with the forest service as a biological technician, and served two terms with AmeriCorps. Outside of work Justin spends the majority of his time outdoors doing outdoorsy things, never far from his binoculars or skis and his best buddy, Duncan.
Mosaic Ecology employs a diverse work crew of forestry technicians consisting of up to 20 individuals who conduct on-the-ground restoration in numerous ecological systems. With ongoing training and development, members of Mosaic Ecology provide high quality work in a positive workplace.
